The Misfits Series
PRAISE FOR THE MISFITS
After years of getting by, they are given the chance to stand up and be seen—not as the one-word jokes their classmates have tried to reduce them to, but as the full, complicated human beings they are just beginning to discover they truly are.
From the creator of The Misfits, the book that inspired NATIONAL NO NAME-CALLING WEEK, comes the story of Joe Bunch....
Told in elegant, accessible verse, ADDIE ON THE INSIDE gives readers a look at a strong, smart, and sensitive girl struggling with the box society wants to put her in.
Skeezie’s got the leather jacket of a tough guy, but a heart of gold—and his story, the fourth and final chapter of the beloved Misfits series, is brimming with life’s tough choices, love in all directions, and enough sweet potato fries to go around.
All four of the Misfits books, the middle school series that inspired National No Name-Calling Week, are now available in a collectible boxed set.
No Name-Calling Week
No Name-Calling Week was inspired by the popular young adult novel The Misfits by James Howe. The No Name-Calling Week Coalition, created by GLSEN and Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, organized an actual No Name-Calling Week in schools across the nation, which began in 2004. Since then, No Name-Calling Week has been adopted by schools everywhere and has grown into one of the largest bullying-prevention initiatives in the country.
